Mud Room Cabinets

This entrance off of the garage is quite small, but the client wanted to create a space where they could come in and disassemble their children without leaving a pile of shoes and backpacks in their wake.

So we filled an entire wall with these stalls.  Brushed nickel tri-hooks add hanging storage.

The seat is solid maple.  This was done mainly for durability.  It also happens to look very good.  The drawers are full extension and the drawer bottoms are a grate to allow for wet mittens to dry out.

Up top and right to the ceiling are four individual cabinets.  Even more storage!  The cabinet work is essentially floating, so there is plenty of room underneath for shoes and boots.

With a footprint of only 2 feet by 5 feet, this project was a lesson in how to use the space without overwhelming it.

Summery Summary

 Whew!
That seemed very fast.  Here we are in October, so I thought I would post a summary of the work over the summer.  It was a busy one.  Check out some of the new outdoor spaces that our clients are enjoying.

A beautiful deck with wrap-around steps.

Also gained is a new dining area.

Putting a deck just a single step from grade really bridges the indoor with the outdoor.  The backyard is easily accesible from all sides of the deck.

The stellar stone work on both projects was done by Ultra-Lock.  I love the combination of decking and stone.

Bonus photo!  This deck used to feature those iron posts and railings that were prevalent in the 60's.  We changed them out with a new, low maintenance vinyl railing.  Looks sharp.

I hope you all had a great summer!  Here comes winter...
