Mud Room Cabinets

This entrance off of the garage is quite small, but the client wanted to create a space where they could come in and disassemble their children without leaving a pile of shoes and backpacks in their wake.

So we filled an entire wall with these stalls.  Brushed nickel tri-hooks add hanging storage.

The seat is solid maple.  This was done mainly for durability.  It also happens to look very good.  The drawers are full extension and the drawer bottoms are a grate to allow for wet mittens to dry out.

Up top and right to the ceiling are four individual cabinets.  Even more storage!  The cabinet work is essentially floating, so there is plenty of room underneath for shoes and boots.

With a footprint of only 2 feet by 5 feet, this project was a lesson in how to use the space without overwhelming it.
